The interior of the DIY Motorhome

More photos as the build progresses.

You will notice now the photos reflect just how near to the completion stage we are. A few furnishings and bed coverings certainly make a big difference to the outlook.

The motorhome is actually liveable at the moment, however it would be nice to finish all the cupboards before hitting the road.

Master bedroom

The view from the hallway into the master bedroom with the King length bed! Oooh-yeh! It has a 2 metre long innerspring matress that's 1.4 metres wide!

This is actually a massive bedroom that has storage built-in to the bed base.

There is enough room under the bed to house another complete family. :)

Master bedroom

The back wall where the mural is will have cupboards each side with bedside cabinets at the bottom.

In the foreground there is a linen cupboard on the left and a robe with drawers on the right to service the double bunk beds for the grandies when they visit.

Master bedroom floor space

This is the amount of floor-space between then end of the bed and the bedroom doorway. It's 860mm or neat 3 feet actually. There is also 500mm each side of the bed too.

Most motorhomes have barely enough room to shuffle your feet around the bed while sitting on it. We wanted room to get changed, and enough room to walk up the sides.

Hall RHS

Okay, this is the lefthand side from the kitchen up the hallway.

The master bedroom can be seen at the end, and the bunk beds for the grandies can just be made out in the center of the hall on the right hand side behind the kitchen doorway.

Bunk Beds

Here is the double bunks on the left.

As you can see they are making an ideal storage space for all the tools and building equipment at the moment. The safety rail for the top bunk is being constructed at the moment.

Stove and Microwave

This is a close up of the electric stove with grill and oven. The microwave can be seen at the bottom

Between the microwave and the stove you can see the 2400 watt inverter to power the electric hotplates on the stove.

Kitchen

We are looking towards the kitchen area up the hallway from the dining table.

You can see the overhead cupboards are now complete, and the dual water faucets are fitted to the sink.

Lounge RHS corner

This is the corner of the lounge behind the drivers seat.

The LCD television will be mounted on an electric lifting mechanism in this corner, so that it can magically appear up from a cabinet below.

Hallway

Looking up the hallway from the master bedroom towards the lounge room area.

On the right hand side the blue washing machine can just be made out inside the bathroom. The bathroom is not completed yet. Just laziness I guess.
